10 easy sewing patterns for beginners
To help you choose your first garment sewing pattern... or because you're in a hurry and don't have much time to sew, here's our selection of our 10 easiest patterns to make. These patterns are accessible to beginners in sewing, provided, for some, that you start with the basic versions. The more elaborate versions will then accompany you throughout your sewing development, in order to make your pattern last even longer. Since the same garment is available in several size ranges, we have grouped them by type (trousers / vests / t-shirts...).

How we chose our 10 easy patterns
Even if the notion of ease of a pattern or the term beginner in sewing can be subjective, we have tried to give ourselves criteria related to the technicality of the patterns: few pieces, straight seams, simple finishes or even quick assemblies for example. On the other hand, sewing stretchy materials , like jersey for example, should not scare you: with a suitable needle and by following our many tips, you will be able to tame this material without worry, even with a classic sewing machine!
If you are not yet completely comfortable using a sewing pattern, we have designed tutorial videos to guide you through all your sewing steps:
- print and assemble a PDF pattern
- place the pattern pieces on your fabric and cut out
