Ready for an elegant Christmas table?

Because setting a beautiful table and paying attention to decorations are also part of the magic of Christmas, our Osaka pattern placemats are dressed up for the holidays! Embroidery or an inset of lace trim, here are two inspirations to enhance your table… or your clothes!

The lace inlay

Inspired by a technique from the talented @martha_moore_porter, we created placemats with inset lace trim. A meticulous, playful, and above all, very satisfying sewing project!

A knot or a frame; the lace inlay will take shape under your fingers.

To best guide you through this new technique, Camille has created a video tutorial. With her excellent teaching skills, she'll guide you through sewing your lace inset. Trust her: you won't be disappointed and will probably be very proud of yourself! It's actually much simpler than it looks 😉.

Two valuable tips to note: to achieve a beautiful inset, the lace must be cotton, as the meticulousness of this project relies in part on ironing. As a guide, we used 1.4 meters of lace for the placemat with the frame, and 1.2 meters of lace for the placemat with the bow.

Embroidery

To add a festive touch to your table, we suggest trying your hand at embroidery with this sweet bow motif. Available as a free download on our website, it will beautifully embellish your table setting, as well as your clothing and accessories.

To get started with embroidery, Stéphanie will guide you step by step in a video tutorial. All you need is a needle and embroidery thread, paper for transferring the design, and a washable pen. Allow between 30 minutes and 1 hour for the project: a lovely activity to enjoy by the fireside!

Happy holidays
