The perfect little jacket
We paired the Vic jacket pattern with the Rio blouse collars and we love the result. We're fans of this new hack! The rickrack at the collar and the little piping detail at the armhole give it a very inspiring look. Do you like it? Quickly download the step-by-step guide for this hack that we're very happy to offer you! And if the pretty banana caught your eye, see you next weekend for the release of our new pattern #spoiler 😉.
For those who would like to try the same combination with the Vega baby jacket pattern, the result may be less qualitative, as the neckline is slightly different from Vic's. Similarly, Rio's collars do not necessarily fit all of our models: it depends on the necklines and sizes. Testing is necessary on a case-by-case basis.
I want the same!
Patterns, fabrics, thread, crochet hooks, snaps: here's the list of supplies needed to make this jacket. These are just suggestions: we can't wait to see your creations with #ikateecouture.
The bosses
This jacket is a combination of the Vic and Rio Kids patterns. These patterns are available in sizes 3 to 12, in envelopes, PDFs, and projectable formats with an assembly video. This hack adapts to the Vic jacket version with facing, labeled B in the pattern (short or long).

Please note that Vic's neckline is slightly larger than Rio's. This difference will be greater if the sewn size is smaller. Rest assured, this has no impact on the assembly and fit of the collar, as you can see in the photos.
The fabrics
Here is a table of specific requirements including the fabric for the jacket as well as that for the collar, not forgetting the piping or rickrack that you might want to add.
For this jacket, we used a beautiful double gauze with wave quilting. It is available in 3 colors on our website: Khaki, Earth and Ecru. For those who prefer patterns, you can also try quilting poplin with our video tutorial .
The haberdashery

For this hack, we opted for wide croquet on the collar and pockets, and especially piping on the armholes: a very pretty little detail. For the snaps, given the thickness of the fabric, we recommend opting for anorak snaps .
