The holidays are approaching, and what better way to do it than to prepare a unique and stylish festive outfit!
At Ikatee, we are charmed by sequins , fanny packs, sleeveless vests and pretty backless tops.
We decided to revisit our Quiberon pattern to create a chic, elegant, and easy-to-sew top. It's also the perfect project for last-minute sewing: this pattern is quick and easy to make.
The Quiberon model is available for women from size 32 to 52 (and also for children , for a matching look!), in PDF version or in a pocket.

Find out right away how to make this hacked version of Quiberon in sequins.

It's quite simple, and you'll get a wow result! Here are some instructions for creating your Quiberon backless version.

Take your back piece. At the center back, mark a mark 8 cm from the neckline. Trace the back neckline, making sure the curve is nice. The ends of the curve should reach shoulder level. Don't touch the shoulders, or it will complicate the project! You can choose to make a more or less pronounced curve, a less pronounced open back, or a V-neckline.

To finalize the design, we chose to line it entirely in poplin. Cut the same pieces from black cotton poplin as from the outer fabric. Assemble the shoulders, sides, and sleeves of the lining, then place the outer top and lining right sides together at the neckline. Stitch, then turn inside out! Make sure all the pieces hang smoothly, then hem the two layers (sequins and lining) together.

Our 3 tips for making your project a success:

  1. Undersize the model
The Quiberon is designed to be a loose-fitting style. Feel free to choose a size smaller than your usual size for a very chic result! The scooped back neckline also tends to make the style appear slightly larger.

  2. Arm yourself with your vacuum cleaner
Sequins are easier to sew on than you might think, but when you cut them, you'll end up scattering them everywhere. Don't cut the sequins with your sewing scissors, as they may be damaged. Be sure to change your sewing machine needle after you've finished your project.

  3. Take your time
The fabric is a bit heavy and tends to warp. Take your time to pin everything carefully!

We can't wait to see your beautiful creations and #ikateecouture party outfits!
