Not many men get into it! So this interview is surely a collector's item.

Interview:
For your hobbies, do you prefer reading and cinema, pubs and restaurants, football and running or crochet and scrapbooking?
Mainly sports, I have been passionate about ice hockey since the age of 4 and I regularly play tennis on weekends and during the week.
When it comes to DIY and creating, do you prefer a Swiss Army knife or professional equipment ?
More like professional equipment, I'm not yet very confident in my execution skills and I'm still naive enough to believe that good equipment makes the difference!
What was your sewing experience before starting this garment?
Hems, cuffs, no more... in England when you buy a pair of trousers, the store will charge you an extra £20 to adjust the length. It must probably be my Lyonnais "a penny is a penny!" side that resurfaced; anyway, I bought myself a sewing machine to take care of that! After a few months, I told myself that we could do much nicer things than hems... and you know what? Sewing de-stresses me so much (I've worked in finance for 20 years!)
Are your London inspirations kilts, Liberty prints or punk checks?
It will be more Liberty, the choice of fabrics is incredible… and for my little girls aged 4 & 5, it makes me fall in love!
You just made a blouse for your daughters using Ikatee's patterns and tutorials, how did it go?
A very first experience, I found it very nice, even if I probably made all the possible beginner mistakes. The finished result is far from perfect, but I am proud of myself and above all I really want to continue. And besides, the method proposed by Ikatee is very easy for a beginner like me!
Did this give you any new ideas for your hockey outfits?
Hmmmm… NO
What advice would you give to sewing beginners ?
Before you start, read the tutorial from start to finish, think carefully before starting a step, mistakes happen so quickly! Don't be too demanding either, mistakes are part of the charm of the finished product & it's so nice to see your daughter with a product that you made yourself! In any case, if you stress like me on Sunday at the end of the day, it's time to get out the machine!
Thanks Stéphane. A hockey-playing dad, a trader... who sews for his daughters, that's a sure thing! David Beckham has some competition. They'll all fall for him, but I promise, I won't give out your number or email address.
