EUGÈNE backpack and satchel PDF pattern
Eugène is a backpack or shoulder bag available in 3 sizes. It features a full lining, storage pockets, a tablet or computer pocket, a volume pocket on the front, and another elasticated pocket for a water bottle. The bag opens with a wide zipper. You can use the different carrying options: by handle for hand carry, by straps for back carry, or by shoulder strap for shoulder or crossbody carry.

Bag S: 23 x 32 x 11 cm (L x H x D). 8 litres. Tablet and preschool compatible.
Medium bag: 27 x 37 x 13 cm (L x H x D). 13 liters. Compatible with 13" or 14" laptops and A4 school folders for primary school.
Large bag: 29 x 40 x 15 cm (W x H x D). 17 litres. Compatible with 15" laptops (W x H x D = Width x Height x Depth).

What you will learn with this pattern: how to sew a lining, assemble zippers, pockets, handles, straps and a shoulder strap.
Fabrics & Supplies
- Fabric suggestions
- Warp and weft: gabardine, denim, corduroy, oilcloth, quilted fabric, faux leather, leather, honeycomb, linen, cotton poplin, chambray.
- Supplies
- Fusible or non-fusible fleece and optionally Style-Vil mesh foam from Vlieseline to adjust according to the desired effect.
- Non-separating zipper or zipper by the meter.
- Flexible strap 25, 30, or 40 mm wide.
- 2 attachment buckles and 2 sliding adjustment buckles for the straps, or 2 attachment buckles and 1 sliding adjustment buckle for the straps, or 2 attachment buckles and 1 sliding adjustment buckle for the shoulder strap.
- Optionally, you can include 2 carabiners to make the shoulder strap removable.
- 1.5 cm wide elastic.
- 1 snap button for anorak or "camping" style.
- Needles size 100 or 110.
- A protractor or a patchwork ruler to position the back straps at a 60° angle relative to the back piece. Otherwise, use the template provided in PDF format, freely available on the website and printable.
