ZANZIBAR KIDS children's top and dress pattern PDF
Zanzibar Kids is a children's pattern for a top, crop top, dress, or nightgown. This pattern offers multiple possibilities: reversible front and back, simple or tie straps. The top seam is lined, and the bottom is gathered. You can add ruffles, a button placket, and an elasticated waistband.
The pretty summer dress or blouse with thin straps.

What you'll learn with this pattern: gathering panels, assembling a button placket, lining a sheath cutout, assembling a casing for the elasticated waist option, assembling ruffles, and assembling bias straps.
Fabrics & Supplies
- Fabric suggestions
- Warp and weft: poplin, batiste, viscose, viscose crepe, chambray, lightweight denim, soft linen, seersucker, double gauze.
- Knit: jersey
- Supplies
- 1.5 cm wide elastic for elasticized versions
- Bias tape for the straps
- Buttons 9 to 11 mm
- Fusible interfacing max 100x5 cm for buttoned versions
- 45 cm of narrow ribbon or Stabilmanche© to stabilize jersey bias tape
Fabric requirements do not include pre-made bias tape to be purchased. If you want to make your own bias tape (cut at 45° on the fabric), you should consider the needs indicated in parentheses. Note: 1 cm straps for all ages. Regarding the elastic, it is best to measure the child's waist and cut the elastic to that length. The two ends of the elastic will overlap by 1 cm to form the seam allowances, ensuring a well-tensioned elastic that holds properly. Regarding buttons: the spacing between buttons is noted on the pattern by size as a guideline. You can reduce the number of buttons by increasing the spacing.
