DAKAR children's pants and shorts paper sewing pattern
Dakar is a pattern for unisex pants or shorts with two front pockets and a slightly loose fit. It's very easy to put on thanks to its elasticated waistband. Optionally, you can add a decorative drawstring to the waistband and/or make elasticated hems for the pants.
A simple and quick pattern to make that will delight your child in summer and winter.

- Fabric suggestions
- Woven fabrics: poplin, double gauze, viscose, linen, jacquard, corduroy
- Knits: jersey, French terry, sweatshirt fabric, honeycomb
- Supplies
- Soft elastic 3 cm wide for the waistband
- Or fancy elastic at least 3 cm wide (in this case, it’s best to sew it with a twin needle)
- 1 cm wide elastic (for long leg hems, optional)
- Lightweight fusible interfacing (5x2 cm) optional
- Flat cord for optional belt decoration
