Petite histoire du vanity

Born at the beginning of the 20th century under the name Vanity Case, it was the travel companion, structured, compact, always equipped with its handle. In the 1950s and 1960s, it became an object of refinement. Then fashions changed; it was put away, deemed too rigid and too classic. And yet. Its silhouette has stood the test of time. Today, it is making a strong comeback: reassuring and feminine. The vanity case is no longer just a toiletries bag – it has become a chic lunch box, an everyday organiser and a small couture handbag. A practical item, yes, but above all an accessory with character.

With the Bristol sewing pattern, this timeless look can be recreated by sewing it yourself. Because some styles never go out of fashion – they are simply waiting to be reinterpreted.

The versions

Chic and practical mini bags! Minimalist and functional, they are perfect for everyday use or for a night out. The Bristol sewing pattern offers a vanity bag version in small or mini sizes.

The cases

The vanity case evokes those objects that we keep for a long time, practical and sturdy. With Bristol, we wanted to recapture this spirit: a useful, durable accessory that can be adapted to suit the whole family. Bristol offers the pouch in two sizes: large or small.
