Autumn is coming! Might as well prepare for it.

I made a 15' scarf for my niece Ava. Come on, if you make homemade pompoms...let's say it will take you 25'. Much faster than making a children's sewing pattern...

As the trend is for checks, I chose the Liverpool fabric from the ikatee collection.

How to do? Nothing could be simpler and without a sewing pattern!

  1. Cut a square of 1 meter by 1 meter; you can make it smaller bandana style, but I prefer them big and covering the neck well.
  2. Roll between thumb and forefinger the borders to form a rolled hem otherwise called "handkerchief hem". Or even faster, use a special rolled hem sewing machine foot or a serger. Sew the hems with a straight stitch close to the edge all around the square.
  3. Decorate the 4 corners with small pompoms bought in a haberdashery or that you make yourself (ikatee offers you a video tutorial for that). you just need to sew them at the corners with several stitches to secure their hold.
  4. And now, voila. I told you that sewing...it's easy!
